Solid Bleached Sulfate-SBS

There are several types of cardboard; however, the most common one is SBS, sometimes called solid bleached sulfate or SBS for short. Virgin wood pulp is the best material to produce this type of cardboard because it is the most natural. Another name for such boxes is bleach board. It is also possible to manufacture this cardboard using recycled paperboard.

This cardboard usually appears brown due to the wood pulp, and bleach helps to increase its purity and whiteness. It is important to note that there are several ways in which bleaching takes place, and that depends upon the type of finish the material demands. As a rule of thumb, this type has a coat on one end and no coating on the other. There is a tendency for this card stock to absorb moisture. Hence, it is a component of food and cosmetic products. Also, in contrast to other materials, this stock produces excellent printing results due to its smooth coated surface. Aside from other papers with the same grades, this is the most expensive.

The White Back with a Clay Coating-CCWB

It is a type of cardboard made out of pulp that has not undergone bleaching before being made. For it to be suitable for printing, the paper has a layer of clay applied on one side. Usually, this type of cardboard has a white backing and a single sheet of coating. Due to its lack of stiffness, this cardboard easily bends. This cardboard comes in a variety of thicknesses. Also, the type of clay applied to the cardboard surface determines the quality of the cardboard. Make wise decisions and choose right cardboard packaging.

The Clay Coated News Back-CCNB

Recycled paperboard goes into the production of this type of cardboard. In terms of the cardboard’s back, brown or gray is the natural color. There are natural fibers and a natural tone at the back of the cardboard since it does not undergo any process. A lot of packaging does not require much printing, making it the most affordable. In most cases, it works in conjunction with silk screen printing. Box boards, newspapers, and used boxes are a few materials used to make this cardboard. It is also possible to obtain this cardboard in a variety of thicknesses.

Kraft Card as a Material

Kraft card is one of the top materials used in luxury packaging for custom boxes since it contains 100% recycled materials. This stock undergoes a thorough recycling process, followed by a detailed finishing process. This cardboard typically comes in a brown tone. Other colors are available upon request. As a result of the quality of the recycling process, the shade of brown on the brown Kraft will vary.

As an option, a smooth wax finish is also available next to the natural textured stock. Kraft stock consists of 100% recycled cardboard. It is an ideal printing material. Its soaking ability means the ink flows smoothly and soaks rapidly on this card. So, it is not like other chemically coated cardboard. Beauty products, food packaging, and electronic items are all suitable for packaging with this cardboard. In the world of custom cardboard boxes, it is the most graceful and popular choice.

Cardboard with Corrugations

In the process of making corrugated cardboard, recycled materials go into it. By pasting together two layers, three layers, or four layers of sheets, it is possible to create layered paper. Corrugated liners are the middle sheets. Zigzag liners serve as a layer of strength between the two cardboard sheets.

Furthermore, it creates a means to absorb pressure and force. Custom shipping cartons have a trend of using this type of cardboard. The flute is an inner layer between two card sheets and adds a decorative touch to the card. Corrugated sheets have flutes according to how they go up and down. Corrugated sheets are generally easier to handle and thinner when the up & down sequence is narrower.

Likewise, the wider the pattern of corrugated sheets is, the thicker the sheets will be. It is possible to find different flutes in corrugated sheets, such as the G, F, E, D, B, C, and A flutes. In the case of a corrugation type, G is the narrowest, while C is the densest. Also, one can use two or three-ply corrugated materials if more protection is necessary by pasting corrugated sheets together.

Silk screen printing is the only method of direct printing on this sheet. If colors like yellow, cyan, magenta and black are necessary in custom printing, an initial printout takes place on a piece of plain cardboard. It then glues on a corrugated sheet.

Difference between Single Face and Single Wall Corrugate Box

So, keep in mind, that there is a difference between a single face board and a single wall corrugate box. So, a board with a single face is called a single face board. Often used as an item cover, it sticks to corrugated fluting on one side. The paperboard is present on both sides of a single wall corrugated box. Among all the types of corrugated cardboard packaging, this is by far the most common. It is helpful when shipping or moving fragile items that don’t need a lot of safety.

Also, there are three layers of paperboard and two corrugated fluting sections in a double wall corrugated board. Corrugate boards with double walls pile better than those with single walls. It is suitable for shipping containers and bulky items. Similarly, three fluting sections and four layers of paperboard will be present in a triple-wall corrugate box. They are very well in terms of rigidity and can lift heavy weights.
