What are the Retail Boxes

Any product needs good packaging, and it makes a huge impact on your customers. Make sure you provide them with a product they will love to use. The question is, what packaging is best to use? There are many types of retail boxes, with various pros and cons. ECB have premium quality retail boxes for their customers.

Most people are familiar with the following packaging solutions: cardboard boxes, plastic bags, and aluminum foil. It is not possible to apply these solutions to all the products.

Materials Used for Retail Boxes

The product and choice you make will determine what you choose. Here is a retail packaging guide that refers to which material to use for packaging.

Corrugated Fiberboard

It is an inexpensive cardboard product used to ship items. This product is more protective compared to Kraft paper. You can use this if you are shipping delicate items or items that require additional paddings, such as mirrors and electronics.

Aluminum Foil

A roll of aluminum foil contains heavy metal sheets with a sticky surface suitable for baking desserts such as cupcakes. Food does not stick to it well, so you can use it to wrap up leftovers. However, aluminum foil has a low moisture barrier, which is not ideal for shipping foods.

Kraft Paper

It is a very durable material that is foldable and flattens without losing its shape. Price is the most crucial benefit. There are many benefits of retail boxes. It depends on how many you buy in one go and how good they are.

If you plan to use kraft boxes, you should ensure the contents remain dry and safe by covering them. There is a drawback of no padding to protect fragile items from being broken in transit.

Paperboard

Customized boxes made of paperboard are ideal for shipping CDs, DVDs, and books. The top or bottom of these boxes usually has a flap so you can peek within. Paperboard boxes’ main weakness is their lack of moisture barrier. If you need extra care for your item, this might not be the best choice.

Rigid Boxes

Custom cardboard boxes made from rigid cardboard make the perfect packaging. Retail shops use those most often. It is possible to pack a wide range of items in these bags because they are very flexible.

Polythene

Restaurants and fast-food chains typically use these plastic sheets. It acts as a heat barrier. The benefit of their temperature control makes them an ideal choice for freezing foods. In addition, they serve as good protection against rain.

Polythene has one drawback, which is that it doesn’t repel water. So, you cannot use it to wrap clothing or electronics. The sun can also break it down over time, so it needs replacing.

Foam

There are many types of foam. Each consists of a spongy material made of polystyrene beads. Foam packaging is reusable and recyclable.

After cleaning dishes (if still intact), it is safe to place them back inside their original boxes for storage. It only has one drawback: you’ll have to use masking tape to label them because they don’t have lids.

Stretch Film

Stretch films can also serve to cover boxes. They seal off the boxes as they wrap around them. That ensures that you will not find any nasty surprises in the box.

There is also a downside to this type of packaging since they contain plastic that can’t be used again. Its ecological impact is also higher. The importance of retail packaging is familiar with every step of the production process is crucial as producers trace the steps to take their products to market.
